What kind of hostel would my child get overseas during the course?
Initially the college will arrange for the accommodation for a short period of time. Some of the colleges have their own dormitory arrangements. However, students can make their own group or make his/her own arrangement according to their own specific needs.

question How do I contact my child while he or she is abroad?
You can contact international student office of the college.

What if my son or daughter has a problem abroad?
GDC's representative can help you in this respect according to the situation. We have liaison with the university representatives and contacts with the locals community in each country where we have programs. Before departure we conduct orientation programmes to help the students to cope with new environment and cultural differences.

Will my son or daughter be safe?
We have constant contacts with the universities and maintain a steady flow of interaction with the students personally as well as from the authorities of the universities. The locations of all our colleges are of high international standard with excellent track record of law and order. Students are tutored about the “things to do” and “things not to do” for their well being and safety.

Why is counselling a good idea?
Counsellors are the link between the student and the University and are trained to guide the students in their respective programmes and studies. The queries of the students are sorted out in a very effectively so that the students is satisfied and is able to make a choice regarding his/her studies and future aspects.

Should I direct enroll or go through GDC?
Direct enrollment can be a time consuming task especially for a candidate who has no clue about the education system abroad. GDC will certainly help you to

Will my credits transfer to my home university?
Check with your GDC Counselor to make sure that credits from your study abroad program will transfer to your home country and the course you intend to do have recognition in the home country.

What services are included in the program fee?
GDC's program fees include comprehensive academic and student support services before, during, and after the study abroad experience, academic counseling, loan assistance, visa assistance, travel guidance and country/college specific information. (Free consulting regarding education matters).

Is financial aid available?
Talk to the financial aid advisor at GDC to determine how much financial aid you can expect to take on your program. GDC has Tie up with various reputed banks in India which provides assistance to students in the form of bank loan, etc. For more details contact GDC Counsellors.

Am I in the safe hands that the choice or the options given by you would be best for me?
GDC assists the candidate in making a right and a balanced choice after learning their requirements following an informal discussion on various relevant subjects. There are number of option which with the help of counselors the student can opt for what is best suited with consent of student and parents and the University representative.

Will I be able to work in foreign country along with studying?
Normally as a student you are allowed to work for 20 hours part-time per week during your full time course. However, during vacations you can work full-time. The hours however vary from country to country. The rules and regulations some times vary and are liable to change. Student must check with local student Union or the local counselors of the respective college.

Is getting part time job difficult?
No. It is not so difficult to get a part-time job. In fact, If you are open to all kinds of legitimate work, securing a part-time job could be very easy too.

In fact you are respected for all kinds of work in the other countries and your part-time job is also a learning house for you as it offers you a chance of improving upon your communication skills, exposes you to real-time work, initiates you to interact with different people, improves the confidence level.


question What types of courses are open to me?
Institutions of higher education in abroad offer a large range of courses, including foundation programmes, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and diplomas, and research programmes, universities offer around --- undergraduate courses and over 20,000 postgraduate courses. Most universities and colleges take in new students in September while a few do so in January/ February for select courses.


question What are the general entry requirements?
Entry requirements depend on the course and university you choose. Proven academic excellence and/or work experience is sometimes mandatory for courses such as MBAs. In some countries IELTS/TOEFL /GRE/GMAT/SAT certification is mandatory.


question What are my chances of being admitted to an MBA course as a fresh graduate?
Most universities in abroad require you to possess a minimum of two to three years of managerial work experience. However, some universities have a separate MBA course for which fresh graduates without work experience are also eligible.


question Can I study part-time in the abroad?
No. Part time courses are not available for Indian Students


question When should I apply?
Although most universities do not have a formal date for closing of applications, students are advised to apply as early as possible, particularly if they seek any form of financial assistance. Applying early also leaves you with more time to organise your travel documents, accommodation and various pre-departure arrangements adequately. Thus, students looking forward to starting in September should apply by February/ March.
